These photos were taken by Ken Thompson from his home west of Tatum. He had a good view of the approaching sand.
The sand was kicked up by outflow boundary winds from thunderstorms in West Texas. The red dust and sand are from the
numerous cotton and peanut fields there.

There was really no warning or high winds before the sand hit. Just a visual. View is easterly.

Getting close now. Winds were measured at 46 mph by the Tatum Weather Station

The brick house is disappearing. Time to go inside and hope all is sealed up from the sand.
